adapted from littlehouseliving.com
½ + ½ c. sugar
1 c. white all purpose flour
3 + 3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ c. milk
2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted & cooled
½ tsp vanilla
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1¾ cold water
cooking spray or cooking oil
In a large bowl, mix together ½ c. of sugar, flour, 3 Tbsp cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Whisk together. In a small bowl mix together the butter, milk, and vanilla. Add to the dry ingredients listed above. Spray the inside of your Crock-Pot with cooking spray or coat with cooking oil. Place the chocolate batter in the bottom of the Crock-Pot. Top with the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
In another bowl, mix together the other ½ c. of sugar, 3 Tbsp of cocoa powder and pour the hot water over top. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Pour the sugar/cocoa/water mixture over top of everything in the Crock-Pot. Place the lid on top and bake in the Crock-Pot on high for two hours. Watch to make sure the sides do not burn. Spoon out of the Crock-Pot and serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
