Need help planning your health care for the future? Don’t miss this event!
If talking about living wills, health care surrogates and other planning documents leaves you overwhelmed, you can find help at this community event hosted by Hosparus.
In partnership with the Global Human Project, Hosparus invites the Louisville community to join Americans across the country in making their future health care wishes known to family, friends and health providers at a special event on National Healthcare Decisions Day, Saturday, April 16, from 10am to noon. The event will be held at the Louisville Free Public Library main branch, 301 York St., in the Centennial Room located in the basement.
Hosparus and other professionals will be available to provide information and answer questions about all facets of advance care planning, including living wills, medical orders for scope of treatment (MOST), do-not-resuscitate (DNR) orders, health care surrogate designations and more.
Small, informal group conversations about considering preferences, talking with loved ones and making decisions about health care will also be offered. At 10am, a proclamation signed by Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer will be read, honoring this day as National Healthcare Decisions Day.
