Remember this when caring for a loved one
As a caregiver, making choices for your loved one could be a daily occurrence. But Janice Baldon-Gutter, instructor of higher education and caregiver, gives an important reminder to show...
...respect. “Treat everyone as respected adults...not children,” she says. “You may now be the one making the final decisions for their safety and well-being, but show them dignity and respect by at least informing the loved one what is going to happen, when, and why. Of course, get their input too. Their perspective could surprise you and help you make better final decisions on their behalf.”
