Caregiver Cheryl Basham gives her best advice for keeping track of medications. “I created a daily log to record when medicines were given,” she says.
“Over-the-counter medications such as aspirin or short-term antibiotics were recorded at the time administered so duplicate dosing could be avoided. A log sheet was printed for each day and compiled into a bound monthly booklet for caregivers to use. Times were listed on the left of the page with a column for each person.” Cheryl is a retired project manager as well as a caregiver for her parents and a sister with special needs.
