Luxuries You Can Justify: Sumptuous Facials

By Ashli Findley

This small indulgence might seem like a frivolous expense, but the benefits you’ll receive from it can pay off in a big way. Here is a luxurious service that can improve your health and quality of life.

Facial: LeBliss Salon & Spa

Expert: Corie Clingerman, esthetician

What it is: LeBliss offers several types of facials catered to different skin needs. The deep pore facial is the salon’s signature facial. This popular facial includes a good cleanse, double exfoliation, extraction, and a clay mask to help pull out impurities. It’s good for acne-prone clients and someone who hasn’t had a facial in a while. The hydrate facial includes a firming, hydration moisturizer mask instead of a clay mask. It includes a light exfoliation, some extraction for deep cleansing, hydrating products with hyaluronic acid to penetrate the first layer of skin, the mask, and very soothing massages in the face, neck, and shoulder areas. The revitalized facial is geared more toward clients with oily skin. It’s an invigorating facial that includes two cleanses, leaving the client’s face looking and feeling brighter, cleaner, and fresher. The microdermabrasion facial is an exfoliation where the esthetician uses a machine that has a diamond-encrusted, tipped wand to gently remove dead skin cells along the surface of the skin. Then suctioning is used to even out skin tone and texture while pumping up collagen in the skin. Clients immediately notice the difference. It’s better for rougher skin as it does a great job of softening. For more mature clients, LeBliss offers the elastine and collagen facials, which help with elasticity and collagen production. Both target fine lines and wrinkles, helping to firm up the skin while adding hydration. These two facials use more hydrating serums, which are good for hormonal changes that deplete hydration from the skin. The essential white facial is similar to a chemical peel but comes without the harsh chemicals. Red algae and vitamin C are the biggest performers in the essential white facial, helping to brighten the skin. This is good for clients with dark spots or hyperpigmentation. The age exception facial is good for post-menopausal clients who have experienced hormonal changes and need extra moisture in their skin. The highlight is a bio-cellulose mask, which acts like a Saran wrap for the skin. Lastly, the beauty break facial is an express facial (30 minutes), serving as a good add-on service to the client’s “spa day.”

Preparations: No preparations needed

Cost: Starting at $49, depending on facial

Time commitment: The beauty break facial is 30 minutes, the deep pore facial is one hour and 15 minutes, and the remaining facials are about an hour.

Benefits: The facials provide a really good cleanse and exfoliation, leaving the skin with a fresh and clean look and feel.

Side note: Enter the ultimate relaxation zone.
